Mollie King and Vanessa White leaving Radio 1 Central London

image

Mollie King and the rest of the Girl Group The Saturdays were spotted arriving at Radio 1 in Central London on Monday 4 March. Get the best of the shoot from them arriving and leaving at the main website at Fame Fad

But what went wrong with this shot? Mollie King is looking straight at the camera so we have direct eye contact……..that we do!. Beautiful smile as well…….oh yesss. Interesting background with some of the other The Saturdays girls in the frame. Yes things are starting to shape up real good. Good framing if slightly over on exposure………..yes both boxes ticked there as well.

Just one rather annoying problem it’s all gone a bit pear shaped on the focus front, too soft to be even classed as soft focus and blown up to around 100% things are looking grim and no amount of photo-shopping seems to make any difference. It’s such a nice shot otherwise, it was too good to be binned so it appears here on the Fame Fad Tumblr.

To add insult to injury it happened again with Vanessa White below.

2/3rds of a blurred Harry Styles at the 2013 Brit Awards

A flying visit (no I wasn’t one of those 7am types I arrived at 3pm) to the 2013 Brit Awards. It was held at the o2 Arena on 20 February. The spot was terrible (the VIP arrivals area which basically means no celebrities here), it was cold and windy, had a good dose of man flu to make things even better (thanks to LFW) and I must have been the second oldest one there (average age about 14).

To add more insult and misery the main arrivals were annoyingly 50 meters away and even with a long lens (tried it) the shots were C@%P. Left my footstool and ear plugs at home as well.

It’s all going a bit Pete Tong? This is going to be one of those dog  rough evenings!

BUT lo and behold

Danielle Harold at the 2012 Inside Soap Awards. Must have taken about 12 shots of this star but just couldn’t nail a straight on or 45 degree angle shot where she’s looking at the camera due to her hairstyle you could only get her from one side. Gave up in the end which is unlike me!
This was the best out of the lot and hit the button just as a pap saw the same shot as well and decided to stick his gear in the frame and the rest is history otherwise the shot is fair but worthless. The lorry in the background doesn’t help either. Can be cropped and lightened up a bit and may be of some use to a Danielle Harold fans or a Fan Site, blog or similar.

A photo of Rachel Shenton at the 2012 Inside Soap Awards and we seem to have a bit of a problem here. Just arrived for the event and in a mad panic didn’t run any test shots prior to shooting and this is the result with some finger in the air settings. Background is perfectly exposed but didn’t change the flash setting for working very close indeed and the result is bleaching of the subject as in Rachel Shenton. Might have been better off turning off the flash but then her face would have been in shadow. Such a waste as there’s some good bokeh Blurred background highlights) on this shot. It’s all gone a bit Andy Warhol?
Have had a long play with this, but it will need an incredible amount of work to restore any form of skin tone here as essentially it’s not there and you can’t recreate something that isn’t there.  BUT Rachel Shenton is there………..sort of. Unfortunately this shot here could have been one of the best of the night but it wasn’t to be……..again photographer error!

Lizzy Cundy at the 2012 Inside Soap Awards. Just arrived for the event and the stars were turning up and my camera was still in the bag and the words What The…..were muttered. After a mad flapping session just managed to get this shot by guessing settings but her feet are cut off, she’s facing somewhere else, it’s slightly out of focus and also overexposed (check the blown out white dress)……DISASTER.. BUT the expression is priceless. The blonde in the background had that “What the hell is that photographer doing” look on her face which was priceless!
Got her on the next shot  as she realised my predicament, but the expression was not as good as this one. Could have been a good shot but that’s the way it goes sometimes?
